Yuichi KISHINO (岸野雄一)
Born in Tokyo, 1963, Yuichi Kishino works as a lecturer at the Graduate School of Film and New Media of Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Bigakko (a school of the Arts). Kishino calls himself as “studist”, as he involves in various projects including his own music band “The Mustached Widow" and “Watts Towers”.
He has also produced an innovative space within communities to organize DJ events, such as inside subway station, airport, public bath area, convenience store, and at Bon Odori area (a Japanese traditional Bon folk dance). In 2015, Kishino’s music theatre project “Tadashii Kazu No Kazoe-kata (Best way for counting numbers)” received a Grand Prize at the Entertainment Division of 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2017, he became an Artistic Director for The Totto Shotengai (Totto Mole) held at Sapporo Snow Festival x Sapporo International Art Festival 2017 (SIAF2017).
